
Maritime Museum of San Diego - A Great Place for Adventure Sails and Family Activities
Maritime Museum of San Diego is a perfect place to see historic sea vessels which once ruled the seas. It was established way back in 1948 and holds the largest collection of old ships in United States. The Museum is located in San Diego Bay area. Apart from exhibiting ships it also maintains a journal of Pacific Maritime history.

The museum has the reputation of preserving and operating historic vessels. It also boasts of having the world's oldest operating ship known as the "Star of India". They have some world famous historic collections like H.M.S Surprise (1970), B-39 Submarine (1967), and Berkley (1898). Some of the exhibits of the museum are Age of Snail, San Diego, California Navy, Charting the sea ocean Exploration, and Harvesting the ocean San Diego's Commercial Fishing Industry.

Serving nearly 15000 students every year, the museum has got plenty of dock side as well as on board training programs.Some of their famous programs are History and Science Program, Dock side and at Sea programs, Day and Overnight Programs, Living History Programs etc.

The tickets are comfortably priced to the tune of $5 for general admission. Family pack for four is priced at $39. The museum timings are from 9 am to 8 pm and is open every day of the year.
