Exploring the Wonders of the Ocean - Tour Guide to Birch Aquarium

The Birch Aquarium, a part of the Scripps Oceanography Institute situated in San Diego offers a unique opportunity to the visitors to watch the marine life closely and become a part of them. The San Diego aquarium is home to several displays illustrating the marine life of the Pacific Coast. There are interactive exhibits that provide a great learning experience to the visitors. The scientists of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography have been discovering the various aspects of marine life for the last 100 years. Their discoveries are displayed in the Birch Aquarium. You are welcome to the world of the sea horses, animate coral reefs and sharks living in over 60 habitats. One of the objectives behind setting up this institute has been to conserve the sea life. Keeping this in mind, fish breeding is done in the aquarium. You can visit this spot as well.

It is actually situated in La Jolla which is one of the most upscale destinations in San Diego. You can arrive at the aquarium through the bridge over the La Jolla Shores Drive. At the rear end of the building, there is a tidepool where you can spot lobsters and crabs. The patio is an amazing place for concerts that are held during the summer season. The exhibits can be found in different sections named Wonders of Water, Feeling the Heat, There's something about Seahorses, Coral Displays, Tide Pool, Hall of Fishes, Whales: Voices in the Sea.

Group tours and discount tickets are available at the aquarium for visitors. This facility can also be rented for various events. It remains open daily from 9 am to 5 am.
